Richard Buractaon

Richard Buractaon leads the AI initiatives at Andesite as the Head of AI, leveraging more than two decades of experience to address complex challenges in national security and mission-critical operations with cutting-edge technological solutions. With over 20 years of experience, his leadership as Chief Engineer at Rebellion Defense was pivotal in integrating AI throughout the company, markedly improving capabilities in areas such as Tactical Threat Awareness, Battlespace Management, and Cybersecurity. At the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), as a Principal Data Scientist, he dedicated his research and development to employing AI in safeguarding critical infrastructure and industrial control systems, in addition to formulating countermeasures against adversarial AI tactics. His tenure as Director of Data Science at Sotera/KeyW saw him leading initiatives that leveraged AI/ML techniques for critical projects with DARPA, the Intelligence Community, and the Department of Justice. Richard is committed to mentorship and team building, keen on disseminating his extensive knowledge to emerging engineers, developers, and data scientists. He earned an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with a specialization in Statistical Signal Processing and Control Systems, from Northeastern University, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Portland. Outside of his professional endeavors, Richard finds solace in the Pacific Northwest’s serene landscapes, enjoying camping and fishing with his family, which offers a welcome contrast to his dynamic career.
